long and short track skater...mother skated and as a golfer competed in the
U.S. Open twice...late father, James, was a speedskater, golfer, in addition to
playing football, baseball, and basketball...would like to continue competing
and possibly train Morgan horses in the future...other plans involve management
or animal science as possible career avenues...enjoys all types of
music...favorite foods include macaroni and cheese, fruits and her mother's
spaghetti...always places left skate on before competitions.

greatest accomplishment due to the fact that it was the first team ever
made...in 1998 fractured back and was sidelined for three months...parents, Paul
and Lucia, are both self- employed...has a 22-year-old sister in college and a
14- year-old brother in high school....hobbies include drawing and listening to
music...music tastes include, pop, rhythm and blues, and rap...cites fruits,
sushi, pizza, and ice cream as favorite foods...lists ``Dirty Dancing'' as
favorite movie.

Allis, Wis. with father and brother...father, Brad asked if they would like to
try the sport...competed as a member of track team while in high school...has
been a member of the senior and junior national teams since 1994...considers her
mental toughness the reason was able to overcome fractured spine and place
second at 1997 U.S. Junior Short Track Championships and third at the
U.S. Senior Short Track Championships...father is greatest influence for being
there through both the best and worst moments of career...considers him a
hero...brother, Tony, competed in the 1994 Olympic Winter Games...younger
sister, Catie, also a talented skater...father is a member of the Board of
Directors for U.S. Speedskating...when not skating enjoys shopping,
participating in all sports, and playing the piano...goals include earning a
bachelors degree in business or marketing and then earn master's of business
administration...listens to all types of music...favorite author is John

team...finishing seventh in 500-meter competition at the World University Games

State Speedskating Club...reminded by club of how much enjoyment can be received
by sport...was sidelined by strained back muscle for half of the 1996-97
season...enjoys reading, hiking with family, art, and piano...has deferred a
Ph.D. program at Cal Tech in physics (experimental quantum optics) until career
